Bike Week 2009 was another success. We totally want to thank everyone of our friends who made it here to enjoy it with us. You are what makes bikeweek so special. Coe and the team made made it to the track for Coe's 21st year in a row. He came in 7th place of course finishing it. Although he did have to push one rider out of his way, not knowing that the racer had no where else to go, as there was an accident in the first lap of the race. Coe tells a good story and says he was just gonna elbow the guy a little but sent him way across the track, fortunately both Coe and the other racer avoided hitting the one who had just crashed. That is my version, but of course no one can tell it like Coe can. Anyway the race was on Monday , Tuesday we had the usual pool night crew along with all of the bikeweek friends who came, Katrinka went all out as usual with her yummy goodies. Thank you so much Katrinka you are an amazing woman..Wednesday was the 2nd annual monument party in which Vanessa helped cook the HOT DOGS with Bev and the girls while Coe mingled with the older racers and friends and admired his new plaque with is now in place. Check it out. It is in the outside wall closest to the bandshell. When walking from the bandshell enter through the entrance closest to the bandshell and turn to your right. It is the first plaque you will see there. Be sure to support the Monument by purchasing a brick or even a plaque. It is a well deserved project that and we just love Bev and Dick Klamfoth to death. On Thursday we had Coe's annual bikeweek bash at his place with friends from all over the world. We were honored to place Jack Mandt's ashes in a few sentimental locations at at Coes' place thanks to his lovely wife. We had the pleasure of entertaining such celebrities bike week, such as Michael Lichter from EasyRiders Magazine, Wally Dallenbach SR, Lex Dupont, Dick and Bev Klamfoth, Ray Noltemyer, Mike and Margaret Wilson and Ed Fisher to name a few. The rest of Bike week was spent riding and having fun as far as our soon to be going minds can remember. LOL.. Please forward any pics you would like to share with us to add to the site. Can't wait to see you all again next year. Be safe and keep the rubber side down. Oh yeah that reminds me, Coe and I had our first downer on the Gold Duck Wing recently. The radio cover came off while we were riding with Nick Fury on one of our favorite rides down south. It was a dirt road and Coe didn't want to run over the radio cover so he made a dead stop inwhich the bike then started going down. Vanessa was on the phone with Kathi and was bucked off the bike, landing on her back with the phone still in her hand.. LOL. Coe was trying to keep the bike from completely going down but couldn't by his self, so she she got right up and helped him get it back up.. Those gold wings are very heavy to pick up by yourself if you don't already know that.. Vanessa says it's all good, that she was happy to take one for the team radio cover.. hehe. anyway that is about it.. cya next year good people.
